Machines from Pago at the PPMA 2009 Exhibition
PAGO will show a range of labelling solutions for all industries and the innovative techniques for self adhesive labels that make any product distinctive.
PAGO System 630
High Versatility and Performance
The Pago System 630 is based on a sturdy rotary machine and the powerful Pagomat 6 series labelling heads. The system is designed for self-adhesive versatile labelling of all kinds of containers, cylindrical, rectangular, oval and conical , empty or full, and for applications in every industry.
High grade labelling technology and quality plus attention to detail are combined in the System 630 to create an extremely effective machine. With its high degree of modularity, 3 versions up to 1000 p.p.m, the System 630 meets a variety of requirements and continues to guarantee fast adaptation to changing production needs in the future.
Combined with non-stop labelling, the rotary machine can be used even on high performance production lines preserving its total efficiency. The interchange between the first and the second Pagomat unit is executed without any speed reduction and without producing any rejected container.
The System 630 design affords optimum access to the products and machine modules, with guarding for protection from moving parts during reel changes, fast tool - less set-ups and ease of maintenance.
Depending on the performance level, the Pago System 630 is equipped with Pagomat 6/2 R or Pagomat 6/3 R units. These labelling heads belong to the latest generation and they are well-known worldwide for their reliability and precision in label application.
Thanks to speed synchronization by means of a high resolution stepper motor (630 S+M) and servomotor drive (System 630 H), high labelling accuracy is guaranteed at any speed, even during speed changes.
The high speed Pagomat 6/3 labelling head
One of the leading specialist providers of account, loyalty and phone cards worldwide produced on paper, board and plastic launched in 1985 operates in a fully secure environment from their 55,000 square foot factory based in Lancashire.Their capacity has increased with the purchase of 3 Atlantic Zeiser card labellers that
incorporates the PAGOmat 6/3 high speed labelling head. This new development from Pago underlines their philosophy of the company to continually invest in the latest equipment and technology.
The label loop on this head eliminates inertia in a high speed pressure sensitive labeller. It uses an air cushion to support a variable length buffer loop of labels between the unwind and dispensing beak, eliminating inertia in the system and allowing high speed without risk of web snatch or breakage.
As a result of the buffer loop system, which allows the label reel of the new Pagomat 6/3 to unwind smoothly in continuous motion while labels are dispensed in intermittent motion to suit product pitch, very high dispensing speeds can be achieved with particularly short labels.
Depending on label length, which can be 10-300mm, the new machine can run at dispensing speeds up to 120 metres a minute. In addition, the main drive uses a servo motor with short acceleration times to ensure accuracy at high speed, typically ±0.5mm at the dispensing edge.
A separate stepper motor drive, with control via a dual dancing roller arrangement with two sensors, is employed on the backing paper rewind to eliminate snatch and the risk of breakage.
New Labelling technology – the PAGOmat 6/5
To keep pace with the development of the latest production lines, labelling technology must always be one step ahead.
The new Pagomat 6/5 has been developed for special applications and processes the dispensed material in a straight line from a fanfold label web instead of a reel. This enables thicker items such as multi-page information labels, Pagomedia labels with integral give-aways, tactile relief labels, RF or RFID labels and also sample sachets, to be applied to articles or printed products. The liner is continuously extracted under vacuum during high speed labelling (up to 120m/min.) or removed by a cutter.
A further speed benefit results from the opportunity for non-stop labelling without a second labelling machine. The next label web is simply fixed to the end of the previous web during the labelling process. Top labelling precision is guaranteed by the silent-running servo-motor drive.
A special function for high performance dispensing makes the Pagomat 6/5 a real sprinter. This permits a radical reduction of product gaps, to an absolute minimum in product build-up situations, enabling previously inconceivable line performance rates to be achieved.
