Jenton focus on economical solutions for Packaging
Hampshire based Jenton International are focusing their presentation on a mix of ‘economy through technology’ for packaging at this year’s PPMA show with a display of their JentonAriana convergers and new generation seal testers and ATS Banding equipment.
JentonAriana will be showing off the latest model from its Packleader BCS range of multi-lane switchable convergers, which the company claims offers an economical yet intelligent solution for converging a thermoformed matrix of packs into a single line. Use of the latest advanced control technology makes it more adaptable and far easier to set up and maintain.
This new unit has independently adjustable working and infeed height, quick change belts and long life clutches, a net line length addition of only 1100mm and can accept pack formats at 16 cycles per minute. A simple HMI (human-machine interface) system allows speed and pack separation settings to be set and stored, plus the system offers direct pack collection from thermoformer with no extra conveyor required.
Also on display will be the Jenton Autotester, launched at the beginning of the year and continuing their wholesale redevelopment program of the “Ariana” product range, their new generation automatic seal integrity tester and converger system gives each pack the longest possible test time in order to identify and reject the smallest possible seal defects.
During a recent survey of meat factories carried out by WRAP, 11% of meat packs were found to have leaking seals. The Jenton Autotester tests every pack and only rejects those with leaks. Seal testing has the potential to reduce waste by eliminating product recalls and as all packs are tested on line, rejected packs can be re-worked allowing for hugely reduced loss of product.
Controlled Atmosphere Packaging (CAP) of fresh produce has extended the shelf-life of many perishable products. The Jenton Autotester Seal Tester/Converger has been developed as an effective method of warranting such shelf-life by detecting leaking packs at source. Sound packs are converged in to a single lane for following metal detection, check-weighing and pricing systems.
Continuing their fight to minimise supermarket packaging the Jenton Group will also be showing the latest ATS Banding Equipment from Switzerland. Banding, calculated by WRAP to reduce packaging material by up to 67%, offers a wide range of possibilities such as tamper evidence, shelf load packs, multipacking, BOGOF and labeling as well as being able to be used to enhance pack appearance and design.
The Jenton Group supplies banding systems that can operate with paper or film materials which can be plain or printed and machines can be simple table top units or fully automated lines. Potential customers are encouraged to send in samples of their products and/or visit the Jenton showroom and test facility in Whitchurch, Hants to see how banding can enhance their product. Jenton have a range of machines available for sale or hire and offer on site demonstrations too.
