Deadline extended for ‘Ones to Watch’

08 Apr 2011

The organisers behind the PPMA Show have announced an extension to the deadline for the inaugural Ones to Watch, awards which honour the rising stars of the processing and packaging machinery world. Nominations for the awards have been flooding in from across the industry but if you haven’t had chance to submit an entry, don’t panic. The organisers will be accepting submissions via the show’s website - www.ppmashow.co.uk/onestowatch - until 25th July 2011.

The awards, which have been created to celebrate the return of the exhibition on 27-29 September this year, will recognise the promising under 35 year olds who have made a real impression on the industry. So if you know someone who has really made a difference – perhaps you have a colleague who has designed some groundbreaking new technology, won a string of top accounts or is an entrepreneurial genius – then the PPMA Show would like to hear from you.

Nominations are open to individuals – aged 35 years or under – who have been working in any aspect of the processing and packaging machinery industry for a minimum of four years – be it production engineering, plant maintenance, machinery design, logistics and distribution, supply chain, purchasing, quality control, R&D, business development, marketing, customer service or finance. Submissions must be made by a third party – such as a manager, mentor, employer or client – by 25th July 2011.

All entries will be reviewed and shortlisted by a panel of judges and finalists will form part of an 'Achievement Gallery' at the event from 27-29 September 2011. Nominating is free and simple, go to www.ppmashow.co.uk/onestowatch to explain, in a few words, why someone you work with deserves to be one of The Ones to Watch.

Testimonials

  • “This is the third time for us at the PPMA Show. We keep coming back to the show because of its high quality of customers. We’ve made a few deals already which is promising, but exhibiting at a trade show is all about the long term investment; we may not hear from some of these customers for several months or even years, but they do come back.”
Henk vd Ven, Marketing Manager, Lantech
  • "We’ve exhibited at various exhibitions but I knew that if we improved our stand, we could do very well at the PPMA Show this year. On the first day alone we generated over 100 good leads. This is the best exhibition so far that we’ve experienced as a company and we’ve already booked our stand for next year!”
Colin Griffiths, Chairman, Golden Valley Pallet Wrap Specialists
  • "We had an extremely successful three days at the PPMA Show this year. The visitors were of a high quality and spot on in terms of target for us - plus there was a constant stream of them to our stand which is always encouraging. Importantly for us, there was a lot of interest in our new Omega multi-head weigher so we will be busy following-up all the leads that we secured over the next few weeks. All in all, an impressive show."
Neil Fowell, Managing Director, Yamato Scale Dataweigh
  • “The show not only enables us to maintain our presence in the industry, but it also helps us to generate new leads and business.”
